Echoes from the Drift Kickstarter

Echoes from the Drift is a new independent comic book series by Craig Petersen that follows the journey of two adventurers as they explore parallel worlds.
A Kickstarter campaign has recently launched, that will end on April 17th, to raise funds for the design and printing of the first issue of the series. You can take a look at the Echoes from the Drift campaign here: [http://tinyurl.com/Echoes-KS]
The story of Echoes revolves around two central characters: Jenni, an impulsive adventure-seeker who is, literally, straight out of the 1980s and Zayf, a determined wanderer from a far-flung future.

Echoes is a story that I’ve wanted to to tell for many years,” Craig explains. “The inspiration for this series is my love for shows of the late ’70s and ’80s. It has inspiration from post-apocalyptic futures, giant robots from Japanese anime and classic, sci-fi TV series. I would like to create new adventures in the spirit of those shows. Stories that are fun and adventurous, with a dash of drama and tragedy, that stay in people’s memories”.
In Echoes, there will be a fun and varied ensemble of key supporting characters, some of which are introduced in a prequel to the series called In Ruins. This prequel is set in a post-apocalyptic landscape, and unveils one of the parallel worlds that Jenni and Zayf will visit. All ten pages of In Ruins can be read for free at www.mechazoic.com

In Ruins was a way for me to create a new artistic style and develop the tone for Echoes.” Craig mentions that he went back to his influences, such as Yoji Shinkawa (Metal Gear Solid), Hiroaki Samura (Blade of the Immortal) and Mark Texeira (Sabretooth, Union), to find an inking style that kept the energy of his pencil work.
Craig is originally from New Zealand and moved to Europe in 2013 to pursue his dream of being a full-time comic book creator. His previous work includes the superhero series Southern Tribe and the horror-comedy Close to Midnight.
In the Kickstarter campaign, Craig is not only offering the comic, but also unique sketches of the characters and the original artwork pages from Echoes as Backer Rewards.
