Sweaty Palms is an autobiographical comics anthology about anxiety. The book contains more than 350 beautiful pages of black and white comics by 50 incredible indie cartoonists. We’ve collected their stories to present a very intimate and comprehensive look at what it’s like living with anxiety.
This anthology is our way of helping to de-stigmatize mental illness. As cartoonists, we can’t think of a better medium for the job! Visual storytelling gives a face to abstract things, like anxiety, which can be very difficult or painful to convey otherwise. It is our hope that readers will connect with the stories and know that they aren’t alone.

The idea for Sweaty Palms was conceived late last year when the book’s editors Sage Coffey and Liz Enright met for a work-party. Liz, coping with the recent death of her father, decided to invite Sage over to catch up! Sage, who had recently become more honest with themselves about their depression, vented about the (almost) panic attack they experienced on the bus ride over. The two found that openly discussing their anxiety helped to alleviate it. The remainder of the evening was spent planning what would become Sweaty Palms. Liz and Sage dreamed of creating a safe space for other artists to express their anxieties.
The Sweaty Palms Kickstarter offers some unique, limited-edition rewards including: an MP3 of an original song composed by Chicago-based folk group FOUND HOUNDS, an enamel pin designed by Justė Urbonavičiūtė, and a three-tone risograph print designed by Sloane Kim.
In addition to the wide array of physical rewards, Sweaty Palms presents the unique opportunity for backers to commission select contributors and get their hands on original pages! Contributors like Katy Farina (The Amazing World of Gumball) and Constanza Yovaniniz (Postcards in Braille) currently don’t have commissions available outside of the campaign. Backing the project could be your only chance to snag original art.
Sweaty Palms was recently funded and hopes to reach the first stretch goal by the campaign’s end, which is less than 3 days away! Please consider supporting this wonderful anthology and its 50 equally wonderful contributors!
